Sirius is the original and leading provider of off-leash puppy classes worldwide.
Our premier, world-renowned puppy classes emphasize the importance of the prevention of common behavior problems by placing equal focus on both early temperament and good manners training for your pup. All Sirius classes advocate easy, effective, and, above all, enjoyable teaching methods that all family members can master, even children. The primary goal of our puppy classes is to produce willingly compliant, well-mannered, easily handle-able adult dogs.
Our
off-leash Puppy I classes are for puppies between 10 and
18 weeks of age (see Basic Manners and Obedience for pooches over 18 weeks).
Class priorities are teaching Bite Inhibition
(so your puppy develops a soft mouth), socializing your
puppy to people (especially children, men, and strangers)
and other dogs, and teaching basic manners such as sit,
down, stand, and come.
These unique off-leash classes
are reserved for Sirius Puppy I Graduates only. Also, your
pup also must not be older than18 months of age to register.
In Puppy II classes, dogs and owners learn higher level
obedience, including walking the pup on a loose leash,
heeling, placement commands ("Go to your mat and settle down"),
stays with heavy distractions, emergency recall, emergency
down, and distance commands and recalls from play sessions.
It is best to attend a Puppy II class just as your dog
is entering adolescence, usually around six to nine months
of age to build good habits during this tumultuous stage
of development.
At Sirius we believe dog training should be fast, fun, and of course, effective! Our Young Adult classes are based on the same premise as our internationally known Sirius Puppy classes, but are specifically designed for dogs that are too old to register for Sirius Puppy I. We teach you and your dog all of the basic skills needed for a mannerly pet dog, and how to apply them in your day-to-day life. Sirius Young Adult classes are for quiet, people-friendly and dog-friendly dogs less than 2 years of age. Older dogs may be accepted if the owner has recently (within 3 months) adopted or otherwise acquired the dog. Classes are taught on leash at all times. Exercises covered include: Rev and Settle Down-calming the crazies, Reward training Watch, Stays, and Walking on a loose leash, Lure/Reward training position changes-Sit, Down and Stand, Lure/Reward training Loose-leash Walking and Heeling, Polite on leash greetings.
A detail-oriented class that builds on the foundation skills of our Sirius Young
Adult Basic. The focus is on your dog’s reliability in responding to
your requests on the first try, as well as reliability and focus in the presence
of distractions. We will cover real-life manners training scenarios such as
recalls away from food and other dogs, polite loose leash walking, Heel, Leave
it and drop it, go to your mat, emergency recall, emergency down, motion commands,
come-to-heel position, and some tricks. In Young Adult II we also focus on
using hand signals and verbal requests to control your dog, minimizing the
need for food rewards or a leash to communicate effectively.
Your dog is ready for Young Adult II if s/he can focus on you most of the time in class, and can do sits, downs, and come with out a lure. If you're not there yet, you're welcome to repeat Young Adult Basic for more practice before moving forward, after all practice makes perfect!

Every dog deserves to have a few tricks under his
collar! This enjoyable class provides mental stimulation
for your dog while teaching a variety of tricks in
a relaxed, stress-free environment. The list of possibilities
is endless: shake, high-five, spin, take a bow, sit pretty,
wave, hide your eyes, put your toys away, fetch, find it,
turn on/off the light, etc. or if you have a special trick
or skill you would like to teach your dog, we will help
you do it. Teaching tricks is a great way to enhance your
relationship with your dog and to improve overall obedience
while having a blast! The only catch, your dog must have
completed either Puppy I & II or Basic
Manners and Obedience & Refined
Manners and Communication to join in the fun.
Dancing with Dogs
This is an innovative class full of music, tricks, and
the inevitable joy of partnering with your dog. Picture
freestyle heelwork on both sides to music and you’ll
get the idea. We use basic obedience and tunes
to enhance the communication necessary to bond with your
best friend. Dancing with Dogs is fun for older dogs,
younger dogs, big and little. Fun for slow dogs, fast
dogs, silly dogs or even dogs with 4 left feet. It deepens
the relationship between you and your dog while teaching
you some great moves to keep your dog’s attention
on busy city streets or just for your own private dance
floor.
The class is fast paced and a great way to get your old dog moving or the young and the restless to burn off energy. Come prepared to shake, rattle and roll and we will show off your dog at his/her very best. All dogs want to dance. Why not? It is just plain fun, fun, fun! So don’t be shy and don’t delay, “Let’s Get Dancing!” Before you put on your dancing shoes, your dog must have completed either Puppy I & II or Basic Manners and Obedience & Refined Manners and Communication to hit the dance floor!
