Keri Lyall and family

Keri Lyall, B.A., CPDT, has been teaching puppy and adult dog training classes since 1989. She began working for Oz Puppy Training, transferred to the parks and recreation districts in Contra Costa County with her move from Sacramento to the Bay Area and in 1998 was hired by SIRIUS® Puppy Training, where she teaches with great enthusiasm in Walnut Creek, Danville and San Ramon.

Keri is an original founding member of the , Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), which prides itself with a mission toward enhancing the human-dog relationship through education and dog-friendly training. The organization was formed in 1993 and has grown from 73 members to over 5,000 worldwide. Keri attends the annual APDT conference in addition to other lectures and workshops throughout the year. In spring of 2002, she graduated with honors from the San Francisco, SPCA Academy of Dog Trainers with her behavioral counseling certificate. At this time she dropped her day job to part-time in order to meet the needs of clients needing private training and specialized work on behavior problems.

Keri shares her home in Martinez with her son Hayden, daughter Mackenzie, Queensland Healer mix, Shasta, Yellow Labrador, Siskiyou and Sparkey the hamster. Though always stressing the importance of prevention, socialization, consistency, motivation, and positive reinforcement in training, the raising of Hayden and Mackenzie have brought new light to these concepts and added patience as well.
