Dog II

This is a continuing education class for dogs that have completed either Puppy 1 or Dog Training I, online or in-person.

Take your training to the next level! In this course we expand upon the foundation skills you’ve learned by adding distance and distraction. We’ll also introduce lots of new behaviors that will help you manage your rowdy teenager or overly energetic adult dog. 

Covered In Class:

  • Place work - go to your bed and stay there, chill out
  • Curbing Jumping and Mouthy Behavior 
  • Leave it/Don’t Touch 
  • The Magic of Chew Toys - active vs passive food dispensers
  • Wait - teach pause at boundaries, such as doorways, crates, and cars
  • Loose Leash & Heel - walk by my side and pay attention, please
  • Recall Games - how to teach your dog to want to come when called
Requirements: 

For ages 15 weeks (with completed Puppy I) and up. Prerequisite - Puppy Training I or Dog Training I, online or in-person.

Temperament: Dogs must be comfortable being around other dogs and people. Excited and playful is normal behavior; lunging and aggression towards others is better worked on with a private training session before enrolling in a group class. Excessive barking that cannot be curbed by the instructor may result in dismissal from class with a refund and referral for private training. If you have questions as to whether your dog would be benefit from this class, we'd be happy to discuss.

Vaccine: Proof of rabies vaccine and up-to-date DHLPP/DHPP.

Please note: This class is held on-leash for all 5 sessions.

Length: 
This class is $249 for five consecutive weekly sessions, unless a break is mentioned. Each session is approximately 50 minutes and will meet on the same day and time each week.
