Kristi Jackson

Kristi Jackson, CPDT-KA is a professional dog trainer in the San Jose area. She began her work with animals by walking and socializing shelter dogs in New York City. It was during this time that she learned the importance of proper training, and it’s direct link to the quality of life that our dogs experience. This realization ignited a passion in her and she followed that passion to Best Friends Animal Society in southern Utah where she completed an immersive internship learning from some of their best trainers. Upon completion of her internship in Utah, she began a year long apprenticeship with one of the top dog training schools in NYC, followed by a full time position there where she taught group classes and provided private lessons, training walks and board and trains. She also continued her work with Best Friends- New York as one of their registered trainers, where she worked at adoption events and counseled recent adopters.

Kristi is now back home in the Bay Area and is continuing her mission to help dogs and people understand each other better and live more fulfilling lives together. Through her work in animal welfare, along with her focus on early canine development in New York, Kristi has seen the unparalleled importance of socialization and training in young puppies in achieving that mission, and that is what helped her find a home here at SIRIUS.

Besides teaching with SIRIUS, she offers pre-puppy consults and private in-home lessons around the South Bay.  She also works with Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch (JARR) rehabilitating dogs dealing with behavioral issues and getting them ready for adoption.

Kristi lives with her Husband and whichever foster dog or board and train puppy they have taken in that week.
